Decent work... The key to a better future for boys and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo!
Dear KIYO supporter,
We'd like to introduce you to Abigaël. She is 20 years old and lives in North Kivu. Unemployment there is very high, so youth often end up in illegal mining or in crime. Girls and young women are often victims of sexual exploitation. It is essential to strengthen their socio-economic resilience and increase employment opportunities. With the support of KIYO, Abigael had the chance to discover her talents and take a vocational training course in car mechanics.
"Thanks to this opportunity, I really got to know myself. I have more self-confidence, which allows me to make better decisions and express my ideas within a group. In the garage where I work, I get noticed as I am the only girl and learn quickly."
What can you do? Support KIYO and give youth in the DRC the chance to take part in vocational training that matches their abilities and gives them the key to a better future. The total cost is 200 euros per youth, but 35 euros is enough to enable a youth to take part in a week's training. Of course, every donation counts.
